HANNAH WALSH

DIRECTOR, CINEMATOGRAPHER, EDITOR.

Hannah Walsh likes to believe that she will one day be able to develop gills and live in the sea. She spent four years living and working in Costa Rica as an in-water surf cinematographer before moving to her new home in Vancouver, British Columbia where she is pursuing her career as a documentary filmmaker. As a recent graduate of Capilano University’s Documentary Film program, Her ability to work all parts of production including producing, filming, and editing has allowed her to work for a number of notable organizations, businesses, and clients in the surfing industry such as The Changing Tides Foundation, Carve Designs, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co, 1% For the Planet, to name a few. Through her work, she always brings their vision to life through her unique lens. As an emerging director, her work focuses on bringing awareness to the need for more inclusivity in action sports. Her empathetic and curious nature combined with her extensive background in competitive collegiate swimming provides her the unique skill-set to craft heartfelt and compelling stories that she hopes will spark positive change in the world. When she’s not filming, you can find her frolicking in the frigid and vast waves of the Pacific Northwest.
